Officer The Navy requires 500 each forged, 5-inch, 54 caliber
projectile bodies with base plugs to bemanufactured in accordance with
Department of the Navy drawings SK75780 and SK75781;Federal
Specifications NN-P-1, TT-C-490, and TT-P-664; Military Specifications
MIL-C-5501/7,MIL-G-81332, MIL-P-16594, MIL-P-18948, and MIL-P-22332;
Military Standards DOD-STD-2101, MIL-STD-100, MIL-STD-1167,
MIL-STD-1322, and MIL-STD-1322-862; and IndustryStandards AMS 6382,
ANSI Y14.5M, ASME Y14.24M, ASTM A579, and ASTM E8. Packaging shall be
in accordance with NAVORD Drawing 2838392. Each projectile body
shallconsist of a shell and a base plug; 25 each of the shells shall be
welded with bronze bands. Anoption quantity of 500 each will be
included in the solicithan 1 mill heat of steel. Government
