The requirement is for a six month contract for the Western FI region beginning November 1, 1996. This includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. This contract is tentatively scheduled to expire on January 31, 1997, or upon the start of health care delivery under the TRICARE Managed Care Support contract for Regions 7 and 8. The contract will be a firm-fixed price. Offeror will be required to develop region wide networks of health care providers. The Government's intent is to modify the current contract for a sole source contract to the incumbent contractor to perform a sole source extension to the current contract unless an acceptable competitive proposal is received from an alternative offeror.
