The Standard Industrial Code (SIC), for this project is 1622 - Bridge, Tunnel, and Elevated Highway Construction. The size standard is $17.0 Million. The work includes painting of an existing steel tube truss bridge, approximately 370 feet in length. The bridge carries pedestrian traffic over Bauer Road and three railroad tracks owned by the CSX Corp. Repair to existing anchor plates and bolts, and concrete repair and incidental related work. The projected date of availability of the solicitation is 30 July 1996. The projected bid opening date is 30 August 1996. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick up a copy of the plans and specs at the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction, Building 2004, Room 253, Quantico, Virginia. The hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There will be no charge for these documents, however, there will be only one set issued per contractor.
