813-972-7588 This is a combined synopsis for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the subparts in 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued
as a request for proposal. This solicitation document and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 90-39. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7359.
Small Business size standard is $5 million. Price shall be submitted as
follows: For the period of 8/1/96 through 9/30/96; Monthly rental cost
for the robotic system to include a cost break down of all
accessories. For the period of 10/1/96 through 9/30/97; Monthly rental
cost for the robotic system to include a cost break down of all
accessories. For the period of 10/1/97 through 9/30/98; Monthly rental
cost for the robotic system to include a cost break down of all
accessories. Provide adequate technical information along with rental
pricing. The robot shall be able to carry items throughout the hospital
operating 12 hrs a day, 7 days a week. It shall be a self-guided,
trackless, pre programmed electronic unit, that can go to any location
within this medical center. The task shall be accomplished using the
current facility, ensuring that the medical center will not have to pay
for costly changes and/or modifications. Unit must be equipped with a
keyboard or keypad, built-in monitor and a voice to guide the unit and
user. Unit shall be equipped with multiple safety features to include
emergency stop switches, flashing warning lights, and complete fail
safe controls. The robot should include sensors and systems to make it
fail safe in operations, as well as, safety conscious to meet Medical
Center requirements, i.e., avoiding obstacles in its path. The robot
shall be equipped with security locking devices. The robot shall be
delivered with one additional rechargeable battery, battery cart and
other consumable supplies, necessary for operations of the robot. Robot
shall be able to carry 6 cu ft of cargo at once. The robot shall be
able to be programmed by the user to perform multiple tasks. The robot
shall be able to go to multiple locations on the same run. The robot
shall allow all repairs on site. The contractor will furnish, install
and maintain the robot in accordance with the manufacture's
specifications during the time it is under this rental agreement. The
contractor shall repair or replace any part of the equipment that is
not properly functioning within 24 hours, after notification by the
Medical Center. The minimum allowable amount of down time for repairs
and maintenance shall not exceed 24 hours per week. Training shall be
provided for employees of this Medical Center at this Medical Center.
Training shall be provided for employees on first, second, and third
shifts. All training shall be provided by a qualified Manufacturer's
trained technician. Offerors shall provide a completed set of
provisions with proposal found at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications-Commercial items. Provisions and clauses found at
52.212-1, 52.212-4 and 52.212-5 also apply. Proposals shall be
submitted to the address listed above and directed to the Attention of
Eric Guidash (90C). The solicitation number RFP673-64-96 shall be list
