COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 10,1996 PSA#1633The Library of Congress, Contracts & Logistics Service, 1701 Brightseat
Road, Landover, MD 20785 D -- CRS IMAGE SYSTEM CONVERSION TO OPEN STORAGE SUBSYSTEM SOL
IN96C-18 POC Katherine M. Phillips, Contracting Officer, 202-707-0400.
The Library of Congress intends to negotiate with IA Corporation of
1900 Powell St., Watergate Tower, Suite 600, Emeryville, CA 94608, for
services required to convert image data stored in the CRS Imaging
System database from the current proprietary format employed by IA
Corp. when the system was originally developed by that firm, to
standard non-proprietary TIFF format. Services required will include
modifying application software to store new data in TIFF; moving the
data store from optical disk to RAID, thereby expanding capacity and
improving response time; and establishing a RDBMS index, consistent
with the Library's technology plans for its Legislative Information
System. The CRS Imaging System was custom designed for the Library by
IA Corp. under a prior contract. NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE. SEE NOTE
