Williams, Purchasing Specialist, 901/747-7655 The project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to Design and Build a new U. S. Postal Service owned Processing & Distribution Annex in Wausau, Wisconsin, in accordance with plans and specifications. A brief description follows: The intent of the Functional Design Specification (FDS) is to provide the USPS functional space requirements to be used in the facility design. The space arrangements contained in the FDS are to be incorporated in the design to emphasize the efficiency of mail processing operations and to achieve economy of construction and maintenance of the facility. The design component of the design/build entity will ensure that all building, structure, and utility systems proposed for use are cost and energy-effective utilizing a 20-year life cycle cost analysis and that the design criteria do not exceed the requirements. The Postal Service will consider adjustments to the arrangements providing they do not change the basic relationship between postal spaces or functions. The facility must be well designed to be aesthetically pleasing and contemporary in approach. It must create an attractive and efficient environment for both the marketing of postal service and employees. The issue date for the above project is August 8, 1996. The return date is August 14, 1996. Performance time is 180 days. The estimated Cost Range is between $3,000,000. and $4,000,000. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for July 30, 1996, at 10:00 AM in the University Room at the Holiday Inn Campus Area, 2703 Craig Road, Eua Claire, Wisconsin 54701. The cost of the plans and specifications for the project is $100. per set. This charge is non-refundable.
