H -- TESTING AND INSPECTION SERVICES SOL 590-17-96 DUE 082196 POC Michale Weaver, (804) 728-3116 VA Medical Center, Hampton, VA requires laboratory testing and inspection services for the project entitled Ambulatory Care Addition. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment and supervision to accomplish construction period laboratory testing, field testing and inspection of Project #590-064. Contractor will be required to provide on-site mobile laboratory with testing equipment and at least one full-time on site technician. Tests will consist of but are not limited to the following: earthwork tests, backfill, subgrade, paving, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, steel, structural steel, ultrasound weld testing. The term of the contract will coincide with the estimated time of performance of the construction, approximately 25 months. Specifications for testing laboratory and field inspection services are included in the solicitation. Only qualified labs will be considered for award of this contract and evidence of qualifications must be submitted with bid. Principals of the testing laboratory must be registered Professional Engineer with a minimum of three years in type of testing required under this contract. Offers will be evaluated on (1) company experience and demonstrated ability; (2) personnel qualifications; (3) technical approach and (4) price. The SIC for this procurement is 8734.
