(202)287-3238. West Court Renovation, National Museum of Natural
History (NMNH). The Smithsonian Institution is seeking proposals to
furnish all surpervision, labor, equipment, materials and other
required ancillary support to construct a new infill building and to
renovate an existing lobby space. All work on the new infill building,
containing a large format film theater, resturant, Discovery Room and
related support facilities will be located within the existing West
Courtyard of the Smithsonian Institution's NMNH, shall be performed in
accordance with the plans, as shown on the drawings (220 sheets), and
the specifications, five (5) volumes, for Office of Physical Plant
(OPP) Project No. 923106, dated May 17, 1996, and as approved May 20,
1996. All work in the existing lobby space to be renovated is located
within the main building and will be contiguous to the new infill
building, and shall be performed in accordance with plans as shown on
the drawings (19 sheets) and specifications (150 pages) for OPP Project
No. 923127, dated February 28, 1996, and approved May 20, 1996.
Offerors shall take note that only one (1) contract shall be awarded
for both projects. Copies for the Request for Proposal (RFP), No.
F9636SOL0033, will be available upon written request from the
Smithsonian Insitution, Office of Contracting & Property Management,
955 L'Enfant Plaza, S.W., Suite P-114, Washington, D.C. 20024, ATTN.:
Code 32. Drawings and Specifications for these projects may be
purchased by Offerers at their own expense from the following:

telephone (310)670-7874. The cost of plans and specifications shall be
totally the responsibility of the Offeror and is non-refundable. All
firms interested in submitting proposals will be required to submit
cost and technical informantion which will be evaluated using weighted
factors as published in the RFP. The date for submission of proposals
shall be published in the RFP. It is anticipated that Offerors shall
have sixty (60) days from the date of release of the RFP to submit
proposals. The approximate value of the projects described herein is
$15,000,000.00 to $20,000,000.00. Offerors should be aware that
submission of a subcontracting plan shall be required. Offerors shall
commit, to the maximum practicable limit, to the use of minority,
disadvantaged and diversified small business. All responsible sources
