SUPPORT FOR THE SURFACE COMBATANTS/AEGIS PROGRAM OFFICE SOL

602-8105 X516. The Naval Sea Systems Command has a services requirement
to support the Program Executive Office for Surface Combatants/AEGIS
Program (PEO SC/AP) in the Technical Division (400B), Operations
Division (400E), and AEGIS FMS program. Support services required
include: program management, ship integration and configuration
management technical support. Facilities, equipment, computers/computer
networks and related material are required by the contractor to fulfill
this effort. Program management support services include: 1) operations
support in the preparation and maintenance of schedules which relate to
planned engineering events, such as, PERT, WBS, milestone charts, etc;
2) business and financial assistance required in preparation of
program documentation to support cost estimating, tracking, reporting
and budget justification; and 3) overall management support in the
preparation of graphics, organization management and electronic
commerce/electronic data interchange initiatives. Ship integration and
test support services include: 1) coordination and tracking of ship
trial card responses; 2) availabilities/on-site management; 3) support
of AEGIS test teams; 4) support of DDG-51 Class shock trials; 5) sea
trial support; and 6) material tracking support. Configuration
management support services include: 1) configuration control of
ordnance alteration assignment numbers, distribution of Configuration
Control Board directives, and control of Nomenclature Assignment
Request forms, etc.; 2) analysis of change documents through
maintenance and review of electronic copies of receipts, comments, and
action item responses; 3) maintenance of the AEGIS Configuration
Control and Engineering Status System (ACCESS); 4) maintenance of the
AEGIS Document Imaging System (ADIS); 5) assisting with Configuration
Control Board preparations; and 6) site planning support. Services will
be for a base year and four option years. The total anticipated effort
required to perform the outlined tasking is approximately 190 man
years per year over a five year period. Primary effort will be
performed at the Contractor's facilities located within a 1-mile radius
of the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters currently located in
Arlington, Virginia. A secret facility clearance is required. The
solicitation will be posted on the INTERNET on or about mid-August
1996. A limited number of hard copies will be available on a ''first
come first served'' basis at the Naval Sea Systems Command, Zachery
Taylor Office Building, National Center Building #3, 2531 Jefferson
Davis Highway, NAVSEA Liaison Office, Room 5E40, Arlington, Virginia.

software. This solicitation, which will include related files (i.e.
RFP, CDRLs and DD 254) listed under the solicitation number, can then
be downloaded directly to your workstation. In addition, offerors are
hereby notified that any written requests for copies of the
solicitation will not be acted upon. This RFP may solicit an ''ORAL
PRESENTATION.'' The incumbent for these services is Vitro Corporation
performing under Contract N00024-92-C-5115. The Navy plans to award two
separate contracts for the follow-on efforts upon the end of the term.
This synopsis is only for one portion of the effort currently being
performed under Contract N00024-92-C-5115. The anticipated award date
