29 -- EMU IS A DATA SYSTEM FOR MONITORING OF ENGINES POC Contact, Betty Estey, Phone (703)604-1920 The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) intends to procure approximately 18 engine monitoring units (EMU) for FY 1998 and approximately 11 EMU's for each option years FY 1999 and FY 2000 for the AV-8B aircraft for the United States Marine Corps and the Spanish Navy. NAVAIRSYSCOM intends to procure these items thru a Letter of Agreement with the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence who will negotiate with GEC Marconi Avionics, the sole manufacturer of the EMU and the only firm with pre-requisite knowledge and expertise to perform the effort.
