THIS SOLCITATION IS HEREBY BEING ISSUED ON AN ''UNRESTRICTED'' BASIS INVITING FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION. This Solicitation was previously advertised under Solicitation N62467-92-B-0541 as a Set-Aside. The project was Cancelled in its Entirety. Itis now being advertised as N62467-96-B-0756. The work includes a facility to train firefighting of aircraft fires and a facility to train firefighting of building fires. The facility to train fire fighting techniques in extinguishment of aircraft fireswill include a paved mat 100 ft. in diameter. Surrounding the mat will be a paved 50 feet wide vehicle maneuvering area. A mock-up aircraft will be mounted on the mat and will contain devices to provide propane fueled fires that simulate an enginefire, a wing fire, a wheel/brake fire, and a cockpit fire. The fires will be controlled by an Instructor stationed in a perimeter control area. The propane will be stored on site in a refillable propane storage system. The facility to train personnelin the accessing and extinguishment of building fires will include a three story reinforced concrete structure with an exterior stair tower to access each floor. There are windows on each floor, plus a roof area for fire fighters to utilize inpracticing the use of their fire fighting equipment. The interior spaces will be heated to simulate the stress of working in a high temperature environment.
