This requirement is for equipment selection, procurement, installation, and programming of a commercial, off-the-shelf, differential global positioning system (GPS)-based navigation and tracking system which will be used to support C-130 aerial spray operations. The system will include two subsystems: an aircraft unit and a ground unit. Two aircraft units and one ground unit are required for this evaluation. The system shall be programmable and accept predefined ground tracks to be flown, provide accurate head-up course guidance and steering cues to C-130 aerial spray aircrews inflight, and automatically record spray patterns and ground tracks flown, and the resulting area spray coverage based on the patterns/tracks flown and spray volume and swath width. The system will include on-board and ground station display equipment which will allow real-time monitoring and recording of the patterns flown and areas covered during day or night operations. The contractor shall provide all equipment, materials, labor, and tools necessary to accomplish installation and check-out of the complete system. The contractor will provide aircrew training necessary for complete system operation and maintenance. Training will include ground school and technical assistance and training during inflight check-out. This solicitation will be issued approximately 26 Jul 96.
