Febach (301) 975-6326 The National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) intends to purchase one each DPSS 532-200
diode-pumped solid state 532nm laser system, part no. 0165-605-00, on
a sole source basis in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 from Coherent Laser
Group, Santa Clara, CA. NIST shall request a written quotation and
anticipates an August 25, 1996, award. The laser shall fulfill all of
the following requirements: single longitudinal mode (frequency) for
large coherence length to allow high contrast interference fringes;
operation at single frequency with a line width of less than (2 MHz and
a coherence length )150 meters; single transverse TEM00 mode for sharp
beam focusing and uniform beam profile; ring resonator design to
eliminate spatial hole burning that causes multimode or
multi-transition laser operation; 200mW of continuous wave ouput;
wavelength of 532nm; power stability; optical noise equal to or less
than 0.25% rms with a bandwidth of 10Hz to 10MHz; no mode hopping-the
laser shall have an active feed back loop that automatically controls
an intra-cavity tuning element to insure tracking of the fundamental
laser mode; laser must be vertically polarized with a polarization
ratio of )100:1; full output power within one minute of turn-on from a
cold start; size less than 5 x 4 x 18 inches including the power
supply; no cooling water or fan during recording - the laser shall
operate without a fan for more than 10 hours of continuous operation on
an optical table; short term noise shall be less than 0.25% rms over a
bandwidth of 10 Hz to 10 MHz; warm-up time less than 5 minutes;
warranty for full repair to full operation within 72 hours after
written service request; useful life greater than 14,000 hours of
operation; delivery FOB destination within 60 calendar days after
contract award. See numbered Note 22. (0180) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0390 19960701\66-0005.SOL)
