This is a notice that the Defense Industrial Supply Center (DISC) intends to release a draft request for proposal to suppliers of Wood & related materials, millwork, and plywood & veneer, fscs 5510, 5520, 5530 respectively. The Solicitation is for a prime vendor to cover various customer requirements in the Mid-atlanticregion and Europe. The prime vendor concept entailsa partnering between the supplier and the Government through the employment of Commercial practices, electronic Commerce (EC), and a one-on-one relationship between the supplier and the various activities It will be supporting. DISC will be holding a presolicitation conference on 24 July 1996 at the Norfolk navalshipyard, Portsmouth, VA to take questions and suggestions regarding the draft Solicitation. Information gathered will be used to design a workable document for the supplier, DISC, and its customers. It is anticipated that the Solicitation will be issued 14 days after the presolicitation conference. Interested contractors should contact MS.
