The FAA intends to award a contract to strengthen the foundation for the tower by placing a reinforced concrete mat under the tower and to construct a covered walkway. The ARSR is located in Bighorn National Forest at Medicine Mountain approximately 27 miles from Lovell, Wyoming. The access road is a single lane gravel surface road. The project affects the Medicine Wheel National Historic Landmark, and therefore must comply with the Medicine Wheel Programmatic Agreement. A ten-day period for completion of submittals is provided prior to Notice to Proceed. The estimated period of performance is eighteen days.
