GOVERNMENT MOTOR FUEL CREDIT CARD SERVICES The General Services Administration (GSA) previously notified interested parties to attend an industry briefing on July 10, 1996 (CBD). The briefing on July 10, 1996, announces a dynamic new Long term Master contract approach to provide travel, purchase, and fuel payment services with multiple vendors. AT 1:00PM the same day, a follow-on session will be held to discuss GSA's intention to solicit offers for an interim contract for fuel card services. Both meetings will be held in the GSA auditorium at 18th & F Streets, NW, Washington, D.C. 20405, beginning at 9:00AM. The interim fuel services contract will provide fuel credit card services until a master contract is awarded. The requirements for the interim procurement will include payment of motor fuel, oil and lubricating services, oil and air filter services, washing and cleaning services, mounting and dismounting tires, anti-freeze and minor emergency repairs and other services for the Federal Government. The interim fuel credit card must be a commercial fleet credit card accepted at most major and regional fueling sites in the United States. The contractor will be responsible for collecting and providing units of measure (gallons), and all applicable Federal, state, and municipal taxes applied to fuel and non-fuel purchases. The fiscal year 1995 dollar volumes were estimated at $190 million with an estimated 13 million transactions. There are currently 360,000 fuel credit cards in use. The current contract for fuel credit card service expires on September 30, 1996. A draft statement of work for an upcoming Solicitation will be distributed at the July 10, 1996 meeting, however, there is NO Solicitation ready for comments or issuance at this time. GSA intends to award an interim fuel credit card service contract to a single source on or about January 1997. The contract period will be for one year, with options.
