OSCILLATOR LASER SOL 52RANB60C040 DUE 071996 POC Marilyn Scherer,
303-497-3657 The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends
to purchase one femtosecond tunable synchronously pumped optical
parametric oscillator laser system. The specifications are given below.
1. Femtosecond tunable synchronously pumped optical parametric
oscillator. a. Temperature controlled lithium triborate crystal for 90
degree phase-matched generation of signal and idler wavelengths from
titanium sapphire pump laser in a signal-resonated optical parametric
oscillator configuration. b. Repetition frequency: greater than 80 MHz,
matched to a commercially available titanium sapphire laser source. c.
System must have an automated piezoelectric cavity length adjustment
to maintain lock of cavity length frequency as the laser is tuned, less
than or equal to 5 um cavity length. d. Signal tuning range: 1.10 -
1.35 um; 1.34 - 1.60 um. e. Required pump source: less than or equal to
2 watts at 775 nm and 810 nm for the wavelength ranges above,
respectively, 130 fs, 82 MHz. f. Noise: less than 2% rms, 10 Hz - 1
MHz. g. Spatial mode: TEMoo. h. Beam diameter: less than 2.0 mm at 1/e2
points. i. beam divergence: less than mrad full angle. j. polarization:
greater than 100:1. k. Idler wavelength range: 1.65 - .3 um.
Microprocessor controlled: Both crystal temperature and cavity length
controlled for tuning of wavelength and for wavelength scans. Output
pulse duration: less than 130 fs; average power: greater than 150
mwatts. 2. Wavelength extension conversion kit. a. To extend the 1.10
- 1.35 um signal wavelengths to the 1.34 - 1.60 um range. Power specs
listed above. 3. Frequency doubler to extend wavelength of parametric
oscillator to visible. a. Beta barium borate crystal doubler to achieve
560 - 660 nm; power: greater than 50 mwatts typical. 4. Pump output
option. a. To output couple greater than 250 mwatts of titanium
sapphire light out. This synopsis is published for informational
purposes only; solicitation is not available. No telephone requests
will be accepted. Only qualification statements will be considered at
this time. In the absence of other qualified sources, it is the intent
of the Government to negotiate a sole source contract with Spectra
Physics Lasers, Inc.; 1334 Terra Bella Avenue, Mt. View, CA 94039 under
the authority of 41USC 253(c)(1). See Note 22. (0177) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0440 19960626\66-0003.SOL)
