The US Army Information Systems Selection and Acquisition Agency intends to acquire for the Army and other DOD components (excluding Navy and Air Force) commercial-off-the-shelf portable computers, handheld computers, peripherals, and office automation software suites. The requirements include two levels of portable computer capability, operating systems, hard disk drives, three sizes of color monitors, docking stations, other related items, a minimum of a three year warranty, and deliveries to CONUS, Germany, Italy, Panama, Korea, Japan and other OCONUS sites. The request for proposals (RFP) is expected to be released on 7/19/96. This acquisition is a follow on to the Army's Portable Computer-1 contracts. It is anticipated that two awards for IDIQ contracts with 24-month ordering periods will result from the RFP. RFPs will not be mailed. The RFP will be made available on the USAISSAA Electronic Bulletin Board System at 703 325-6095 for 9600 bps; 703 325-4876 for 14.4K bps; 703 325-5229 for 28.8K bps; communication parameters: 8N1.
