Nez Perce National Forest, Elk City Ranger District, Idaho County, Idaho. Project includes the construction of an earthen sediment basin with 48 inch drop inlet drains and impervious liner. Incidental work includes clearing and grubbing, drainage ditches, sediment control features and equipment rental for cleaning existing sediment ponds and stockpiling the waste material. Location of Project: Adjacent to Newsome Creek approximately 1.5 miles above the Newsome townsite, which is located approximately 44 miles east of Grangeville, Idaho and 20 miles west of Elk City, Idaho. The townsite is located near mile marker 7 on Newsome Road No. 1858. Newsome Creek road junction is at mile marker 37 on State Highway 14. Pre-bid tour is scheduled for July 24, 1996 to begin at the Newsome Townsite. Estimated start date is August 19, 1996. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000.
