X -- HOTEL ROOM ACCOMMODATIONS POC Mark T. Burns/Contract Specialist/703-875-6052 17. AMENDMENT. This is a notice of an amendment to change the requirements of, and extend the due date for Department of State solicitation S-OPRAQ-96-R-0551 for hotel room accommodations at the United Nations General Assembly scheduled for September 10, 1996 through October 10, 1996. The requirement was initially published in the CBD February 27, 1996, and amended March 12, 1996, and is hereby amended as follows: (1) the term of the requirement is changed from 3 years to 1 year; (2) the total estimated number of hotel rooms is changed from 375 to 366 of which at a minimum 9 are required for the command post; (3) conference rooms to be used for briefings must be available on a flexible schedule; (4) The command post space may be either 9 (nine) contiguous daily rooms or sufficient contiguous space or conference rooms to accommodate between 25 to 30 personnel. A sufficient number of tables, chairs and suitable lighting is required in each contiguous or conference room space. Placement of operable telephones in the contiguous spaces with ''INTERIM'' service will be determined by DS personnel upon their arrival at the facility. Additionally, a minimum of 240 square feet shall be available for each contiguous or conference room space. Access to the rooms or sufficient space needs to be isolated from the general public. Access to these rooms will be limited by agents. The Department of State reserves the right to award multiple contracts if the Government's requirements cannot be fulfilled by one offeror. If an offeror has an alternate approach fulfilling the Government's requirements, they may submit an alternate proposal. If an offeror is unable to meet 100% of the Government's requirement, they are requested to inform the Government which portions they can provide. One such alternate approach would be 25% of the rooms (not conference or command post rooms) may be outside the boundary, but located within Manhattan, south of 86th Street, north of 34th Street, and east of 5th Avenue. An amendment to the solicitation is being released to all potential offerors on the original mailing list. If your firm is not on the mailing list, contact the Contract Specialist named in this notice for a copy of the revised RFP. Proposals submitted from this notice are due no later than 9:00 am, June 24, 1996. (0163)
