(415) 522-2840. The General Services Administration (GSA) announces
the expansion of the ``Best Available Lodging Value (BALV)'' program.
GSA intends to solicit lodging agreements from properties within a
designated location. The selection of participating properties will be
based on the ``best value'' (i.e. location, price and amenities) for
the federal traveler. This is Phase II of the BALV Hotel Program and
will cover the following locations, effective August 1996: Arizona -
Cities of Phoenix and Tucson; California - Cities of El Segundo,
Anaheim, Oxnard, Long Beach and San Diego; Colorado - Cities of Denver
and Lakewood; Florida - City of Orlando; Illinois - City of Chicago;
Louisiana - City of New Orleans; Maryland - Cities of Annapolis,
Baltimore and Bethesda; Missouri - City of St. Louis; Nevada - City of
Las Vegas; New Mexico - City of Albuquerque; New York - City of New
York; Oklahoma - City of Oklahoma City; Pennsylvania - City of
Philadelphia; Texas - Cities of San Antonio, Houston and Fort Worth;
Virginia - Cities of Norfolk, Leesburg, Fort Belvoir and Herndon; and
Washington - City of Seattle. Participating properties must be in
compliance with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990 (Public Law
101-391). Lodging Establishments interested in participating must write
