Agency for International Development (USAID) will host a business
opportunities conference at 9:00 am on Wednesday, June 26, 1996, at The
Forum located at One Cleveland Center, 1375 East 9th Street, Cleveland,
OH. The purpose of this conference is to introduce the opportunities
offered by USAID to the U.S. private business sector, especially small
and disadvantaged enterprises. USAID administers the U.S. foreign
economic assistance program around the world, providing assistance in
developing countries to improve and promote economic stability and
world peace in support of U.S. Foreign policy. The U.S. business
community plays a vital role in meeting the challenges of international
development. USAID encourages all businesses interested in development
work to attend this important one-day conference. It is anticipated
that several Senior level USAID officials will make introductory
remarks including The Assistant Administrator for Management. The
conference will be held in the Auditorium of The Forum. The meeting
format will include both a general session and breakout seminars, to
discuss topics of interest to different groups. Topics will include:
small and disadvantaged business utilization, commodity procurement,
export opportunities, and procurement in the regions of the world where
USAID has Missions. Questions for the open forum should be presented at
the meeting and should not be submitted in advance. Position papers are
not being solicited. A registration fee of $35.00 will be required, and
will include a luncheon & conference materials. Please make your check,

Association. The deadline for registration is June 21, 1996. USAID
encourages small, and small socially and economically disadvantaged
entities, universities, private voluntary organizations, profit making
organizations, non- and not-for-profit organizations, sole
proprietorships, and other organizations either currently doing
business with USAID, or interested in doing business with USAID to
