Jacqueline Feirouz, Contracting Officer at(401) 841- 2442 X294 FAX:
(401) 841-4820 The Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division
Newport, intends to award a sole source purchase order to SDRC Software
Products of Littleham, MA for the procurement of the ''Ideas for Design
and Engineering System (IDEAS) for Design'' software package consisting
of 2 Core Master Modelers, 1 Surfacing Set, 1 Assembly Set and 2 Core
Draftings. The items to be procured will be used to add additional
software licenses to one of our laboratories and must meet the
following minimum requirements: (1) The software must offer an
integrated capability for performing mechancial design in two and three
dimensions with preprocessing and postprocessing of finite element
models to be used for structural analysis. (2) All software modules
must provide direct access to a common database. It is unacceptable for
a translator, such as IGES, to be required as an interface between
modules. The database transfer between software modules should not be
accomplished using a neutral file format. (3) The database must be
fully compatible with Structural Dynamics Research Corporation's
Systems and Model Plus Software Packages. (4) The program must be
capable of generating files that are compatible with the ABAQUS, MSC
NASTRAN, Dyna3D, and MARC finite element codes. It must also be capable
to accept files generated by these codes as input to its postprocessing
module. (5) The software must be fully compatible with the existing
IDEAS software and model file database. Existing three dimensional
solid models must be readable with no loss of data. (6) The software
must be fully supported on the Hewlett Packard UNIX based workstations.
(7) The package must incorporate an on-line finite element algortihm
for the solution of linear static, linear dynamic, thermal stress,
thermal conduction and potential flow problems. (8) The software must
support IGES 3.0 and prior standards for the communication with other
computer based design/analysis tools. (9) An interface must exist for
generating toolpaths for numerical control machining from the three
dimensional design database. (10) An interface must exist with NUWC's
three dimensional stereolithography system. All responsible sources may
submit a quotation no later than 10 July 1996. No formal solicitation
will be issued. (0162) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0276 19960611\70-0003.SOL)
