COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 11,1996 PSA#1613U.S. Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, Procurement Department (PD),
1200 K Street, N.W., Suite 510, Washington, D.C. 20005-4026 C -- TENANT MANAGEMENT SERVICES DUE 062096 POC Contact Contract
Specialist, Tova Stein, 202/326-4160 X3234 Contracting Officer, Robert
W. Herting, 202/326-4160 The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation
plans award a sole source contract to increase the contractor hours of
the incumbent vendor who assists PBGC in space planning, construction
documentation and review including engineering specifications,
furniture coordination and design work, and various tenant services
(e.g., square footage calculations, wall treatments, etc), in ongoing
renovation efforts throughout existing PBGC locations and proposed PBGC
work-sites. This work is a continuation of work already being performed
by the contractor on existing projects. The period of performance is
anticipated to be one 12 month base year and three one year option
periods. The current provider has capabilities and knowledge gained
from performing similar services for PBGC since the buildout of 1200 K
Street. Greenwell Goetz Architects' early involvement during the
construction of the building on the behalf of the govenment gives them
a unique insight into how to mesh PBGC's requirements with the
existing facility. This contract will also include follow-up work to
Greenwell Goetz Architects efforts as the designer of the
specifications for a prototype regional office. Their knowledge of the
workflow and organization of PBGC uniquely qualifies them to perform
this effort. PBGC requires existing knowledge of our facilities,
structure, and functional requirements as well as the systems furniture
requirements mandated by our collective bargaining agreement. Other
unique capabilities include excellent working relationships with the
other principals involved in these efforts which expedites work
accomplishment. Greenwell Goetz Architects is uniquely qualified to
respond to our need for accomplishment of short notice projects without
an undue amount of preparation or assistance from PBGC. The proposed
contract is for supplies or services for which the Government intends
to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of
FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and
capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This
notice of intent to award a sole source contract is not a request for
competitive proposals. See Note 22 (0159) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0012 19960610\C-0006.SOL)
