Herting, 202/326-4160 The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to award a sole source contract to Columbia Technology, Inc. to acquire specialized technical project management, pilot network design, development, implementation and network impact assessment services of experienced personnel. The contractor's duties will include the following services; (1) To provide the required project management expertise, prior knowledge of the PBGC Corporate Oracle databases, their structure and content is necessary for immediate interface; (2) To provide required alternative network operating system design and implementation and interface into PBGC's existing network environment is necessary to ensure system integrity; (3) To provide required network, Corporate application and applications development support consistent with PBGC's existing applications is necessary to ensure systems integration; and (4) To provide required business models to assess network implementation impacts for near term Corporate network decisions. This is a continuation of services being provided by the contractor who has the capabilities and knowledge gained from experiences with implementing similar technology within PBGC. It is PBGC's belief that in view of the provider's familiarity with PBGC's requirements, operations, and technical infrastructure, the provider is uniquely qualified to perform the duties of the contract without an undue amount of assistance from the PBGC. The period of performanace for the base contract will be from date of award to September 30, 1996, with two one year options for renewal. This is not a request for proposal. See Note 22 (0156)
