Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating
contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy at the Savannah River Site
(SRS) near Aiken, South Carolina, is holding a High Level Waste Vendor
Forum on June 13, 1996, to address selected High Level Waste
Management processes at SRS which represent opportunities for
application of improved state-of-the-art technologies and procedures.
Opportunities exist for improvements in the following general areas:
tank sampling and probing; unit operation improvement or replacement;
processes to recycle or decompose process chemicals; and alternative
process to stabilize low level waste. Interested parties should read
the abstracts which can be accessed on or after May 16, 1996, via
computer modem 24 hours a day on the WSRC Electronic Bulletin Board
system and/or by access to the World Wide Web. The High Level Waste
Vendor Forum is scheduled for June 13, 1996, at the Augusta Civic
Center Exhibit Hall in Augusta, Georgia, starting at 9:00 A.M. EDST.
After reading the abstracts, expressions of interest in contributing
solutions to the technical challenges described may be mailed to
Westinghouse Savannah River Company, Attention: Brian Aring, CPCM, or
Thomas Miniard, Ref. WSRC HLW Vendor Forum, P.O. Box 616, Building
730-4B, Aiken, SC 29802 and/or telefaxed to (803) 952-6095. Include in
your expression of interest the specific abstract(s) in which you are
interested, the number of people to attend, a contact person, address,
and telephone number. If required, telephone contact can be made at
(803) 952-6150 or 952-6154. Access to Electronic Bulletin Board is
through computer via telephone number (803) 952-6064. When signing on
to the EBBS, respond as follows: 1) when asked for a first name,
respond with Company Name (initials are acceptable); 2) when asked for
last name, respond with letter ``A'' followed by your telephone Area
Code; 3) when asked for password, respond with company telephone number
without area code, dashes, or spaces. Once signed on for the first
time, please use the same ``name and password'' combination for future

access to Abstracts through the World Wide Web, specifically address as
follows: 1) hptt//www.srs.gov/general/aboutsrs/pmmd/newitems.htm. The
address will take you to the ``Procurement and Materials Management
Department'' page on which is the heading, ``Expressions of Interest,''
and the topic, ``Environmental Issues,'' which when downloaded will
provide information about the forum and the specific abstracts.
Abstract program funds are not available at this time, but WSRC
anticipates that funding will be made available by fiscal year 1997 for
all of the abstracts identified. Specific abstract work effort to be
awarded after the HLW Vendor Forum, solicitation and proposal
evaluation will be awarded only upon full funding of required work
