Request for Information (RFI), the Aeronautical Systems Center's Weapons, Air Base and Range Product Support Office, at Eglin AFB FL requests information on commercial services equipment. The following are the specific areas of interest: Field Kitchens: Two types of field kitchens are being sought: (a) Mobile field kitchen (trailer mounted food preparation, cooking and serving). (b) Fixed field kitchen complex (food preparation, cooking, serving, and dining area) (a) Mobile Field Kitchen: The mobile kitchen should be capable of providing 500 meals over a two hour serving period, twice per day. The system must be trailer mounted, and require only fuel, and water. Both total electric and multi-fueled are being sought. The mobile kitchen should be capable of operating in all climatic conditions, be lightweight (70,000 lbs or less for entire systems, flooring, ECU, refers, MRSP, etc.) and environmentally controlled. (b) Fixed Field Kitchen Complex The stationary complex should consist of a food preparation area, cooking area, serving area, and environmentally controlled dining area. capable of feeding 1100 personnel three times per day. The system must be capable of stand alone operations requiring only generator, fuel and water. Both total electric and multi-fueled systems are being sought. Field Laundry: Two types of field laundry systems are being sought: (a) Field Commercial Laundry (b) Field individual self help laundry (a) Field Commercial Laundry: The commercial system should be capable of supporting at least 550 people and 20 hours of sustained operation per day, be lightweight and portable. (b) Field Individual Self-Help Laundry: The system should contain both washer and dryers that can be operated by untrained personnel and rugged enough to operate under field conditions. Field Walk-In Refrigeration Units: Walk-In portable field refrigeration units between a 150 cubic foot units and 1,200 cubic foot units are being sought to support field food service operations. Units should be lightweight (7500 lbs or less including the washer, dryer and MRSP) air-transportable and highly insulated to maintain temperature between zero and 35 F. Firms interested in providing information on any or all the areas of interest in the event of a future development and/or production procurement should submit specific information to document their capabilities to develop or manufacture equipment in these categories, and their capability to integrate state-of-the-art equipment with the objective of reducing overall services weight, while maintaining or improving reliability, operability, maintainability, and supportability. Firms should document their facilities, equipment, and their potential to successfully execute such an effort to ASC/VXO, 314 W. Choctawhatchee Ave., Suite 314, Attn: Ms. Angela Staton, Eglin AFB FL 32542-5717. Such information should include, but not be limited to, equipment descriptions, technical performance data, available lab, field and/or operational test results, company engineering development and manufacturing capability. This RFI is for planning purposes only and should not be construed as a Request For Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government to pursue any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect cost or changes by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part any industry input as a result of this RFI. This RFI does not constitute the solicitation of proposals or authority to enter into negotiations to award a contract. No funds have been authorized or appropriated for the contemplated effort. The information provided in response to this RFI may be used by the Government in developing its acquisition approach and statement of work (SOW). The amalgamated results of this RFI may be released to industry as an SOW in the RFP stage, therefore, it is highly desirable that data be received with unlimited rights to the Government However, we recognize that proprietary data may be a part of the information provided. If so, clearly mark such proprietary information and clearly separate it from the unrestricted information as an addendum. Firms responding to this synopsis should state if they are large, small, or small disadvantaged businesses. The appropriate SIC Codes are 3589 (Kitchen), 3582 (Laundry), and 3585 (Refrigeration).
