a commercial item. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has a
requirement for a contractor to provide the necessary labor, repair
parts, maintenance supplies, tools, test equipment, transportation,
documentation, maintenance diagnostic routine, and otherwise do all
things necessary for or incidental to the achievement of 90% effective
operational performance level of Data General computer and peripheral
equipment. The NRC currently has four Data General Computers that
support critical production systems whicih include payroll, personnel,
accounting and budget, property and document control. The current Firm
Fixed Price contract is held by Data General Corporation, McLean,
Virginia and will expire 12/31/96. The base year for this follow-on
effort will begin 1/1/97 and end 12/31/2001 with four one year option
periods. Copies of this contract may be obtained from the NRC's Public
Document Room (202) 634-3273. Proposals for this requirement may be
submitted by all concerns, i.e., large businesses, small businesses,
and small businesses owned and controlled by socially and economically
disadvantaged individuals. A source list comprising the names,
addresses, and telephone numbers of all concerns requesting a copy of
the solicitation, with large busineses identified by an asterisk, will
be provided with the solicitation. In order to identify large
businesses on the list, a request for the solicitation should indicate
the size of the business based upon SIC code 7378 . The size standard
for this solicitation is $14.5M. A copy of the solicitation and all
subsequent amendments will be provided to each requester. The
solicitation issue date is estimated to be 6/7/96. Interested firms
should submit written requests to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory
Commission at the address as shown above. Telephone requests will not
