The U.S. Department of Education, Office of the UnderSecretary, Planning and Evaluation and Elementary & Secondary Education Division intends to award a 49 month contract to obtain information on the incidences of criminal and non-criminal disorder and especially violence in schools nationally and the effectiveness of promsing approaches to preventing violence in schools. The contractor shall collect data through telephone survey of school principals in a nationally representative sample of public schools that have an ongoing Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (SDFSCA) violence prevention projects and compare schools that do not have formal violence prevention projects. Anticipated issue date is June 11, 1996, the closing date is July 12, 1996. Requests for copies of the RFP may be made by telephone, mail, telegram, or in person.
