The contractor shall bring fiber into the building with termination in the computer room on floor 2. Termination will be a contractor-owned mux that provides RJ-45 interface to a T-1 modem and a 10 Mb AUI interface. The circuits shall be provisioned using fiber optic and SONET (Synchronous Optical Network) technology. The architecture shall be bi-directional transmission and offer redundant circuitry on ring architecture that gives a reliability factor that assures continuity. The government requires monitoring of all circuits on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis. It is required that the monitoring system include the archival of all troubles for later reference and information. In the event of a failure, a technician shall be dispatched within thirty minutes and troubles be fixed within two hours. The standard industry code (SIC) is 3357, size standard is 1,000.
