606/253-8880. The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award a
nonpersonal service contract to the qualified individual or business
capable of providing microbiology and infection control services to the
inmate population at the Federal Medical Center, 3301 Leestown Rd,
Lexington, KY. The institution currently houses approximately 2000
inmates and is a major medical referral center for all federal male
institutions located in the United States. Services include, but are
not limited to microbiology services including streaking culture
plates, evaluating infection control plans, assisting in the
development of a quality assurance program, providing technical
expertise to the clinical staff, reviewing lab reports, and performing
TB risk assessments. The contract period will include a base year, not
to exceed twelve (12) months from date of award, with four (4), one (1)
year option periods for renewal. This is a nonpersonal service, not to
exceed 30 hours per week, and not a personnel appointment. Number of
sessions will not exceed 156. A session is 8 hours. The anticipated
issue date of the solicitation is June 6, 1996, with an anticipated
receipt of offers due by July 9, 1996. Request for Proposal
