The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to purchase Laboratory Equipment from MID-ATLANTIC LABORATORY EQUIPMENT CO. The Institute intends to purchase laboratory equipment By Other Than Full And Open Competition from MID-ATLANTIC LABORATORY EQUIPMENT CO., they are recommended as the sole source for the Purchase Order. The intended source MID-ATLANTIC LABORATORY EQUIPMENT CO., is the only supplier of Hermle Centrifuges which in turn is the only manufacturer of the refrigerated bench top microfuge. The Hermle Centrifuges are capable of speeds up to 18,620 x g and will except four (4) different rotors. Specifically, the 44 place rotor which no other manufacturer can duplicate for 1.5 ml tubes and the 64 place rotor for 0.5 ml tubes. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. (See Note 22). It is anticipated that Request For Quotation (RFQ) Number NIH-NIDDK-96-178 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is June 5, 1996. Requests for copies of the RFQ must be in writing and may be requested by FAX (301) 480 - 4226.
