plans to award basic ordering agreements with multiple pre-qualified
information technology contractors. The pre-qualified contractors will
provide expertise and support in areas such as: information technology
(IT) architecture; IT infrastructure; systems engineering; development
and maintenance of IT strategic plans/programs; and project
management. The USPS has prepared a qualification package which will
outline the services and expertise needed and what each contractor will
be evaluated on. The prequalification package will be placed on the
Postal Service's World Wide Web server. The address is
http://www.usps.gov/business/wantad.htm. Those wishing to respond must
do so by June 10, 1996. The pre-qualification packages will be
evaluated by the Postal Service. The Postal Service will choose the
most qualified firms and issue a Request for Proposals to each of them.
