COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 17,1996 PSA#1597ASC/YWP, Bldg 11, 2240 B Street, Suite 7, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
45433-7111 69 -- AIRCREW TRAINING SYSTEMS & AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE TRAINING SYSTEMS
(A/AMTS II) SOL F33657-96-R-2067 POC Program Management, Lt. Mark
Jones, (513) 255-7414, ext 567/Contracting Officer, Richard Stem (513)
255-7414, ext 392. The Training Systems Product Group (TSPG) is
beginning the acquisition planning for the purpose of competitively
awarding multiple Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ)
contracts for Aircrew and Aircraft Maintenance Training Systems (A/AMTS
II) for the United States Air Force and Foreign Military Sales. The
objective of this contract strategy is to significantly shorten
lead-time to meet user training requirements by reducing source
selection time. It is anticipated that contract awards will be made to
both large and small business. A successful large business would need
to be capable of performing a complex simulation acquisition. A
successful small business would need the capability to perform studies
and less complex trainer requirements. Once the contracts are
established, future orders would primarily be awarded on a competitive
basis. It is contemplated that the contracts will have an ordering
period of five years with a contract ceiling value around $500M. The
scope of the contracts will be broad enough to cover most training
requirements in using existing designs with full consideration of
Non-Developmental Items, to develop, produce, deliver and sustain
advanced simulation technology, including but not limited to hardware,
software, systems and networks, and simulations, simulators,
contractor logistics support, training systems requirements analysis
and prototyping. An Industry Day is being planned for 11 - 12 June
1996. If interested in attending the Industry Day, or being placed on
a bidders source list, please fax a visit request to ASC/YWS, Attention
