(DMDC) is performing a market investigation to determine the
availability of electronic fingerprint capture devices and application
programmer interfaces (APIs) and/or software development kits (SDKs)
to work with these devices and with fingerprint databases.
Approximately 1000-1300 electronic fingerprint capture devices will be
purchased over a 2-year period for installation worldwide. (1)
Fingerprint Capture Devices/APIs/SDKs and software applications: All
proposed solutions must provide an image file with a minimum image
resolution of 500 dots-per-inch in 256 levles of greyscale, a
fingerprint image compression capability (e.g., JPEG, W monthly
production rate,lead times, and maximum monthly production capacity;
quantity of product produced/sold to date; standard warranty coverage;
repair/maintenance availability; information about available software
drivers, fingerprint software applications, operating systems
supported, and APIs/SDKs; cost per unit and software licenses in
quantity stated above; make and model of compatible framegrabber boards
and fingerprint capture device interface type (e.g., RS-170, S-Video,
RS-232, SCSI); and procedures for obtaining evaluation units. All
responses must be submitted within 21 calendar days after publication
