Environmental Protection Agency anticipates the award of a Firm-Fixed
Price contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment and services
for a Contractor to construct Seven hundred and fifty five (755)
linear feet of shore protection at the U.S. Environmental Protection
Agency, Environmental Research Laboratory, Sabine Island, Gulf Breeze,
Florida. The project consists of shore protection on the west and
northwest shorelines (Phase I). The protection will consist of minimum
24'' riprap from the waterline to meet the existing vertical shoreline
at a three (3) horizontal on a one (1) vertical slope. The riprap will
be placed on compacted fill covered with non-woven filter fabric. In
addition to riprap protection, this procurement will also include the
following options; the stockpiling of necessary riprap and non-woven
filter fabric for Phase II; demolition and replacement of existing
Building No. 10 with a prefabricated metal building (4,000 +/-sf),
building slab and utilities to serve the building; repair of the
existing northwest pie and the masonary repair of the existing causeway
bridge piers. The Project is estimated in the $500,000.00 to
$1,000,000.00 range. It is anticipated that the solicitation will ready
for issuance around the 20th of June with a bid opening around the 23rd
of July. THIS IS NOT A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. All interested and
