Desdunes, Contracting Officer, (504) 862-1878 Service and material to pack, crate, load, unload, and transport furniture and equipment between sites at the New Orleans District Corps of Engineers. Contractor shall have available a minimum of one truck driver, two to six material handling laborers, one of whom shall be a working supervisor, and one truck for the work as specified in the solicitation. Laborers shall be trained and experienced in this type work. The supervisor shall have at least two years recent experience and the truck driver shall have a clean driving record and a valid, current state drivers license. The truck shall be mechanically sound, and meet all state and local insurance and registration requirements. Complete specifications for both the truck and all personnel are in the solicitation. A requirements contract is anticipated. Delivery Orders will be issued against the basic contract as required. The contract will be for one base year with options for two additional years. Work will be performed during normal working hours, Monday thru Friday, 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Federal holidays are excluded. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required for performance of this contract. Contractor will be required to maintain written records of all work completed, any disputes, complaints, or accidents which may occur during the performance of the contract. Contractor shall be within a one-hour response time of the New Orleans District. Most of the work will be preplanned and contractor shall be given adequate notification. Any emergency work will require very short response time. A single award for all line items will be made. This solicitation is 100% Small Business Set-Aside.
