Westinghouse Savannah River Company (WSRC), management and operating
contractor for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Savannah River
Site near Aiken, South Carolina, is issuing this special notice to
determine in a technique for a fiber optic probe that detects scattered
light with transmitting and receiving fibers. DOE is the assignee of
Patent No. 5,402,508, Fiber Optic Probe having fibers with endfaces
formed for improved coupling efficiency. The patent may be available
for licensing by DOE in accordance with the procedures, terms, and
