COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 15,1996 PSA#1595NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center, Code 733.2 Greenbelt, MD 20771 66 -- EARTH SCIENCE SYSTEM PATHFINDER PROGRAM POC Mark M. Jarosz,
(301)286-2421. Remote-sensing mission to measure climate forcings and
feedbacks. This is a notice of intent to issue an RFI for the Earth
Science System pathfinder program. The initial concepts for ESSP are
available on the Internet at
http://www.hq.nasa.gov/office/mtpe/esspcbd.html. This effort is focused
on high-priority Earth science not already addressed by ongoing planned
missions. The proposal will focus on a low-cost mission, including
instruments, spacecraft, a launch vehicle, ground station, and two
years of mission operations to measure the reflected solar spectrum
(radiance and polarization) and the thermal infrared spectrum with
sufficient precision to allow the determination of climate forcings and
feedbacks. The remote sensing mission would include measurements of
aerosols and clouds. The soliciation's release is planned for May 17,
1996. Electronic versions of the documents will be provided on the
World Wide Web at http://genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/procure.htm, and by
anonymous ftp to genesis.gsfc.nasa.gov/public/solicita. (0134) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0289 19960514\66-0004.SOL)
