NCCOSC RDTE DIV, San Diego, CA intends to procure AN/SLQ-20B processor sets from one source, Hazeltine Corporation of Greenlawn, NY under the authority of FAR 6.302. The proposed effort is based on the design and development drawings of two predecessor engineering development manufacturing (EDM) units performed by Hazeltine. In late summer 1996, NCCOSC RDTE DIV plans to release a Request for Quote (RFQ) containing a Statement of Work and system specifications for the systems to be procured from Hazeltine. The contract will be a fixed price initial production of 29 processor sets with delivery spread over a period of five (5) years. This notice of intent is not a request for competive proposals. However, all proposals received with forty-five days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
