975-6458 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), has
a requirement for the fabrication of a series of both small and large
components of high precision and quality for the Reactor Research
Facility. These components are required to be fabricated out of
aluminum, steel, or stainless steel. Some components require extensive
machining and others will be required to be welded. Some welding will
be required to be vacuum tight, and others required to be water tight.
Certified welders are required. The Contractor is required to be within
a 60 minute driving radius of the NIST facility, located in
Gaithersburg, MD. This is required for easy accessability of NIST
personnel for close control of the work as it is being performed. -- A
detailed statement of work will be issued with the solicitation. --
Technical evaluation factors are expected to be: previous experience
and past performance; mode of construction; delivery; equipment
availability; and automation. -- It is anticipated that a time and
materials, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contract will be
awarded. -- The period of performance is for a base period of twelve
months, with an option for an additional twelve month period. -- See
