SANTOS Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, San Diego, California intends to award, on a sole-source basis, a firm fixed price contract to Eddy Pump Corporation, Santee California to acquire clog resistant sewage transfer pumps. The proposed contract will provide 6 clog resistant sewage transfer pumps designed to discharge salt water, sewage and other waste water from shipboard collecting, holding and transfer tanks. Configuration of the pump shall incorporate a rotor which creates a vortex action inside a hydrodynamicaly designed pump volute. The rotor/volute design shall be such that a negative pressure is maintained within the volute in the area of of the pump seal. The pump seal arrangement shall use pressurized air as a sealing medium to insure sewage does not pass through the pump seal. The pump assembly bed plate shall be configured to fit on exiting shipboard foundations. Eddy pumps are uniquely configured to meet the requirement and are the only know source of pumps utilizing ''Vortex'' technology. Point of delivery is Seattle Washington.
