The Naval Air Warfare Center Wepaons Division, China Lake, Ca 93555-6001, plans to drill two (2) Geothermal test holes to an estimated depth of 1,500 feet each. The test holes will be located at the U.S. Naval Air Station (NAS), Fallon, NV. These test holes will be used by the Navy's Geothermal Program Office in its resource potential investigations of the NAS Fallon area. The requirement consists of mobilization/demoblization, site preparation/restoration, drilling, casing, and cementing the holes. Options exist for completing each test hole in one of three different methods. The contractor will be expected to provide reports, chip samples, geophysical logs. during the period of performance. The contractor shall provide a provision to cover conditions such as lost circulation, angle deviation, standby time, acts of God, and geophysical logging. Blow-out prevention equipment will be required. Subcontractors used for logging will be required to submit copies of their Federal and State Licenses. This project is estimated to take 45 days to complete, and the estimated starting date is August 1996. Proposals are being requested on a fixed price basis to include all mobilization, equipment and supplies, materials, labor, and supervision. Specifications will be provided in the solicitation. A site visit for prospective offerors is planned, with particulars to be provided in the solicitation. The solicitation will be released on or about Jun 3 and will close 45 days thereafter.
