DESCRIPTION OF WORK--The work includes Part A: Construction of Fiber Hut, site work, concrete and asphalt concrete pavements, exterior water distribution system, gas distribution system, storm distribution system, exterior sanitary sewer system; Part B: Construction of buildings new 12kV Metering Station-M and new 12kV Switching Station-O, 12kV switch and associated equipment for metering station and switching station, new underground 12kV distribution including cables, manholes, and ducts, new ducts and manholes for communication system, new 12kV-4 way, sf6, load interrupter, remove existing 12kV service and connect new 12kV service to existing substation 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, remove existing metering and switching station #4, remove existing PCB contaminated 12kV cables, upgrading San Diego Gas and Electric existing 12kV service and power monitoring and analysis system; Part C: Installation of new 12 inch diameter polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water pipe new fire hydrants, service connection, new water meters, new meter and backflow preventer on existing 16 inch diameter main, trench repair and incidental related work complete and ready for use.--The estimated cost is over $10,000,000.--Firm Fixed Price Contract.--Contract duration is 300 calendar days.--Bids will be considered from all responsible sources.--This project is unrestricted.--The Standard Industrial Code is 1731 and the annual size standard is $7 million.--It is recommended the subcontracting plan goals reflect a minimum goal of 7% for Small Disadvantaged Business subcontracting effort.--NOTE: Plans and specs will not be mailed to firms within a 20 mile radius of the issuing office.--A fee will be charged for all plans and specs. Each set will cost $111.28.
