B -- ON-SITE TECHNICAL AND ECOLOGICAL SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE LARGE LAKES AND RIVERS RESEARCH BRANCH, GROSSE ILE, MI SOL C600490T1 POC Contact Point, Donna Reinhart, (513)366-2114 The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, seeks an eligible 8(a) contractor to perform technical and ecological research support services for the Large Lakes Research Station (LLRS), Mid-Continent Ecology Division - Duluth (MED-D), Grosse Ile, Michigan, LLRS conducts mathematical modeling research, sample collection and analysis, aquatic toxicology and ecology studies of rivers and streams, wetlands, and lakes, with emphasis on the Great Lakes. The LLRS research areas will generally include (1) Develop, refine and validate mathematical modeling methods to predict the ecological responses of freshwater systems to toxic chemicals, chemical mixtures, microorganisms or other stressors; (2) Develop and apply ultra-trace level analytical methods for environmentally occurring chemical contaminants; (3) Develop interdisciplinary approaches to planning, collecting, and providing physical, chemical and biological data for mathematical model input and validation. The Government anticipates a cost plus fixed fee (CPFF), level of effort (LOE) term type contract with a base period of 12 months and (4) 12 month options. The base level of effort will be established at 5 full-time personnel including one Technical Project Leader/Organic Chemist (P3), one Chief Mathematical Modeler (P3), one Mathematical Modeler (P2), one Chief Biologist (P2), and one Inorganic Chemist (P1). It has been determined that this effort will be processed as a competitive 8(a) set-aside. The applicable SIC code for this procurement is 8731.
