necessary for the Drydocking Repairs to the USCGC Madrona. Work for
these drydocking repairs is to be performed at the contractor's
facility. The work which may be performed includes but may not be
limited to the following minimum items; 1. Renew Hull Plating 2.
Install Multicable Deck Penetration Box and Preserve Various Antenna
Foundations 3. Fabricate and Install Condensate Tank and Modify Fan
Coil Unit Condensate Drain Piping 4. Renew Main Mast Stays and Ground
Posts 5. Renew Double Bitts 6. Overhaul, Test and Set Relief Valves 7.
Renew Ship Service Generator Power Supply Cables 8. Renew Ship Service
Generator Rotor Cables 9. Renew Bulwark Stanchion 10. Clean and Inspect
Grey Water Collection Tank. The proposed contract will also contain
indefinite items including, but not limited to: 1. Welding Repairs 2.
Preserve Grey Water Collection Tank. USCGC Madrona's homepier is
Charleston, SC. Vessel is 180 Feet in Length. USCGC Madrona's
Availability Schedule is 15 October 1996. There will be a
non-refundable charge required in the form of a certified check or
money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of
$50.00 for requested drawings and publications. The proposed contract
listed here is open to both large and small businesses. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 23 May 1996. All responsible
sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United
States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of
Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist
minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to
$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. For
