U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate a sole
source contract with Genicom Corporation of Waynesboro, Virginia to
procure remedial, and preventive maintenance for the following: 1)
1605-101 Based RBT/600 LPM, quantity 2; 2) 1605-102 PC Based RBT/1250
LPM, quantity 8; 3) F605-03 3770 SNA Emulation, quantity 10; 4) F605-62
EBCDIC 64 or F605-63 96 Character Band/001H, quantity 2; 5) F605-72
EBCDIC 64 or F605-73 96 Character Band/001H, quantity 8. These printers
are located at EPA regional offices and laboratories in the following
cities: Boston MA, Philadelphia PA, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, Kansas City
KS, Denver CO, Seattle WA, Research Triangle Park NC, Cincinnati OH.
Requirements include; a) on-call maintenance Monday through Friday, 9
hours per day; b) per-call maintenance 7 days a week, 24 hours per day;
c) response times of 4 hours for both on-call and per-call maintenance;
and d) preventive maintenance. Vendors claiming maintenance capability
must provide documentation supporting such a claim. This documentation
must clearly demonstrate that a vendor can provide the level of
maintenance (including spare parts, pricing information, and exactly
what service would be offered) and logistics support capability for
each of the items described herein. EPA is not aware of any vendor that
has the capability to maintain the forementioned equipment. Therefore,
EPA intends to negotiate a sole-source with Genicom Corp. of
Waynesboro, Virginia. The intent of this synopsis is to determine if
any source(s) exist and, therefore, no RFP is available. Consequently,
any response(s) failing to provide the aforementioned data but instead
choosing to merely submit their routine letter requesting a copy of the
RFP will be ignored. Responses must be received within fifteen (15)
days from publication of this announcement. Responses shall be
submitted to: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Bid and Proposal
Room (3803-F), Attention: Brian Long, 401 M Street, S.W., Washington,
D.C. 20460. Vendors' response shall be in writing and referenced
''Maintenance for Printers''. Telephone request will not be honored.
