S -- MANAGED NETWORK SERIVCES DUE 051596 POC Peter Janssen, Purchasing Specialist. This is a Request for Comments only. No solicitation is available at this time. The Postal Service is seeking a single source to provide managed network serivces for multiple network applications. The USPS expects the service provider to accept the existing router-based network as USPS-provided equipment and provide the USPS with complete network serivce and management. It is anticipated that service will have to be expanded to an additional 3,000 postal sites witin the first six months of oeprations. These sites are geographically dispersed. The telecommunications networking service will also provide centralized remote management to local Assocaite Offices (AOs). There are approximately 7,000 larger AOs that will require connectivity; and an additional 27,000 to which the service may be extended. The USPS will issue a ''DRAFT SOW'' in the form of a Request for Comments. The draft SOW may be downloaded in RTF for Microsoft Windows based word processors or in ASCIITXT. The SOW file is a self expanding archive containing multiple files. The files will be located on the Internet at www.usps.gov/business/wantad.htm, on April 22, 1996. No copies will be provided via print media.
