(317)298-1180x1119 This is a modification to the combined
synposis/solicitation for a commercial item previously issued on
Wednesday, April 3, 1996. The request for proposal is amended as
follows: The contract will be awarded as an indefinite delivery -
indefinite quantity contract for contract line item (CLIN) 0001 for a
minimum of one (1) each and a maximum of five (5) each. The period of
performance is from date of award through September 30, 1998. The
contractor shall provide on-site training, at time of installation, to
five government employees. Duration of training shall be a minimum of
four (4) hours. A manufacturer furnished training course for two
government employees shall be conducted at the manufacturer's facility.
The manufacturer supplied training shall consist of a three to five day
course given by a trainer proficient in x-ray fluorescence techniques.
The five possible delivery locations may include San Juan, Puerto
Rico; Savannah, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; San Francisco,
California; and Chicago, Illinois. Required delivery date shall be
ninety (90) days from date of contract award or issuance of a delivery
order. The initial spectrometer shall be delivered to the U.S. Customs
Service Laboratory, 6 World Trade Center, Code 2086, New York City, New
York 10048 within ninety days from date of contract award. Award will
be made to a technically acceptable offeror at a fair and reasonable
price. Offerors shall submit technical specifications, with their
proposals, to demonstrate that their equipment meets the requirements
that are outlined in this solicitation. Proposal should include an
acknowledgement of Amendment 0001 to the solicitation. Proposals are
due on Wednesday, May 8, 1996, at 4:00 p.m., Indianapolis, Indiana
time. Proposals shall be submitted to: U.S. Customs Service, Field
Procurement Services Group, Attention: Lee Sullivan, 6026 Lakeside
Blvd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46278. All other terms of the
