Watson (618) 452-4367 (Site Code DAAJ04) The U.S. Army Charles Melvin Support Center has a requirement for a Computer Lab Technician and Homework Center Teacher. This requirement is for a nine (9) months, 1 Sep 96 thru 31 May 97 (base period) with four nine (9) months option years. This requirement is subject to availability of funds. The contractor shall provide after school homework assistance, computer lab assistance, and technical guidance to school-age and teens of military and DOD civilians enrolled in the school-age program and teen program on the installation. The contractor must have either applied knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Novell Networks, networking concepts and the Microsoft Windows based applications or be a certified Novell administrator. The contractor will provide general software expertise with the emphasis on math, science and language (communication) skills. Knowledge of the internet (i.e., e-mail, World Wide Web and Gopher) helpful. The contractor must be able to troubleshoot problems with the student computer's hardware and software, server hardware and software and other components for the local area network (LAN). This proposed contract is a 100 percent set-aside for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Institutions (MIs), as defined by the clause at 252.226-7000 of the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement. Interested HBCUs and MIs should provide the contracting office evidence of their capability to perform the contract and a positive statement of their eligibility as an HBCU or MI.
